Since damask shrinks during boil-washing,
the final size matches the dimensions listed in our product descriptions.
Shrinkage occurs more in length than in width, so we allow extra fabric to ensure a perfect fit.

A generous drape is essential – but it should not hang uncomfortably onto guests’ laps.

What care instructions apply to damask tablecloths?
Our damask table linen is overall very easy-care and durable.
This fine fabric can be washed at very high temperatures (up to 95°C); for stubborn stains, treatment with chlorine bleach is possible. However, the gentler the care, the longer the table linen will keep its brilliant white appearance. We recommend having damask tablecloths mangled (roller pressed) after washing. Ironing by hand is particularly laborious with large tablecloths and often does not achieve the same smooth result.
Damask tablecloths that have been mangled also feature a straight central fold (“middle break”), which not only looks elegant but also provides a helpful guideline when laying the table.
